WWI bunker remains in Täby

I was inspired by this website to travel to Täby and see what remains I could find of Stockholm’s so called northern defense “sausage line“. Unlike my Myttinge post where I searched for the same thing in a different place, I’ll keep my commentary to a minimum

It was a beautiful day outside. Here’s a view over Henriksdal where my apartment complex is situated.

I took the Roslagsbana to Täby kyrkby station.

It was basically in hicktown. I lolled that someone has grafitti on their house.

Here is the first T-fort I found.

The GPS coordinates given by my phone for this location are: 59.4829783, 18.0647868

Overlooks a big field.

I had to walk a long distance to find the next location on that shitty map I printed out from bevarat.

Giant anthill.

Here is some trench in the middle of a field.

Here I was mostly just testing my cellphone camera quality but it’s a video of another anthill which I for some reason find interesting. It turns out my phone takes better video than my camera.

Ok so I finally arrive somehwere cool.

Unlike most of the other bunkers which have a T shape, this one was bigger and different.

The GPS coordinates are: 59.4791193, 18.0785550

Video of nervous walkthrough.

Walking through the forest.

More random trench.

This T-fort is near the powerlines heading south from the freeway.

GPS coordinates for this location are: 59.4714590, 18.0811267

It was too dark to go inside but I took this 20sec long exposure through one of the portholes.

And got my hand dirty in the process.

More walking through the forest

This was really weird. An entire section of the forest had trees planted in rows.

Here’s the last place for the day, coordinates 59.4723817, 18.0583868.

It wasn’t a bunker, but a series of munitions storage rooms.

It’s about halfway in between Täby kyrkby station and Visinge, which is a pain in the ass because there’s no car road or anything that goes parallel to the tracks.

Video of the Roslagsbana going by.

I ended up basically following the tracks manually until I came to Visinge.

In America we have speed bumps, in Sweden they just put barriers in the middle of the street and force you to swerve around them lol.

There are so many random photos of me in here because they were originally picked out for an email I sent to my parents.

The end.
